How to take the first step in planning?

If you have been recently leading a fussy, aimless and unorganized life ,why not take a  chance and do something out of the box.

How about planning things in a simple way?

In preparing for battle I have always found that plans are useless, but planning is indispensable.”
-Dwight D. Eisenhower

People say that plans don't work out,but the truth is that sometimes they make you land up exactly where you are supposed to be.My friend says that there is nothing in life that can't be planned except death.

Well,I am not sure but personally I feel he has a point.Frankly,we can't plan everything in life but we can try our hand at it.

Of-course,there are no hard and fast rules for planning.

There are few simple steps that can get you started:-

1.Pick a small notepad or a paper.

2.Write down the things, you would want to accomplish,in points.

These points need not be long.Just 5-6 words per point would do the job.You may start writing the minutest activities like brushing hair on time.

Funny enough?
Well, most of you do that anyways. It is similar to brushing teeth and having water. Both essential for a healthy life.

So,why write it down?It is just the beginning and the logic is simple. We start small and turn better.

3.Tick the activities you have completed by end of the day.

4.Circle the ones that you did not complete.

5.Ponder over whether you can shift the unfinished activities over to the next day.If yes, then okay but if not, think what you could have done better.

6.Re-read the activities you finished during that day.It will make you feel good and pump you up with confidence to start the new day even better.

#Plan your to-do- list

Getting better at anything isn't something that happens overnight.
Instead, one has to build intelligence everyday through daily habits.

Tell yourself that you'll take one step at a time and that you'll be fine.

Keep it simple.Do this for a week/3 days/1 day.

Tell me how it feels.
I bet it feels great.

To a newly planned day ahead.

Good luck and love.

All is in the minute

So,there is this guy in a Hollywood movie who is at a conference hall giving his dream motivational speech to an elite audience. After having done that for millions of people at million conferences,he finally gets to perform at his dream venue. And,there on the stage,in the middle of his speech,he realizes his real calling. He hustles to continue with his speech but his realization gets the better of him. He feels that this is just not it. He takes a step back. He rushes to the airport and runs to Chicago to complete some unfinished business.

Now,generally people would think that even if he wanted to go back and follow his heart, then he could have finished his speech, waited for a while and boarded the next flight available Why did he have to leave in the middle of a conference?

For all you Bollywood buffs,a similar thing happens in 2 States when Arjun Kapoor leaves his job-interview mid-way to propose to Alia who herself is in an interview. Why did he have to propose to her while she was in the interview? Is it not strange that people without thinking much, take a risk and succeed in the end. Sure, eventually ,if not immediately of course.

Well, that's the point. Everything that happens in this Universe has a reason. If they wouldn't have had the heart to follow their heart at that particular moment of enlightening, they might not have had similar results. It all lies in the moment. If it's gone,it's gone. There is nothing like a second chance. (Well not in this context alleast).

Procrastination could have led them to rethink all over it again and their fears of failure and rejection respectively would have kept them stuck in their routine. It is important to take risks in life. Life is too short anyhow. If you are not ready to do so,then there are chances that you are a control-freak. You might be suffering from OCD. I am not a 100% sure on this but you could certainly Google about these terms and research some more about these.

The point is to make us all aware how important it is to seize the minute. Do,what you have to,right this very second. There might not be a second moment or a second chance.

Go and take those Sweets

Recently,XYZ co. procured yet another building. And we were shifted to the new work-location.That means new cubicles, new furniture, new seating places,desks,switch-boards,pantry,coffee-machine,cafeteria,cabs,cab boarding timings etc etc etc.

Keeping in mind XYZ's well-known fascination for celebrating even the minutest of the occasions with great grandeur and splendor,we were welcomed at the respective floors by a huge crowd. That, obviously made us think that we had entered the wrong venue. In a matter of seconds we realized, that a big scale Lakshmi-Pooja was in progress.

We stood there with our heavy Laptop bags trying to figure out whether to remove our slippers or not and if Yes then, where to keep them.

It has been roughly 3 months since I have been with XYZ and this is the second time I have witnessed Pooja of such a magnanimous scale in the campus. The first-time was  a regular Pooja organized for particularly no-reason.I loved the Pooja no offence but I was glad there was a valid reason behind this one.

The remarkable thing about the prayer ceremony was the delectable Prashad that was served afterwards.Sweets made with pure cashew-nuts,dry-fruits and pure Ghee.

As any regular employee,I feel delighted when my company spends lavishly on Gifts and functions.Bangalore is a place where we meet and greet people from all parts of India and the world.Emphasizing the cultural  and religious diversity here,I already have friends  from all religions by now.

However, for the first time,I witnessed a rather eccentric situation when I refused to give my bowl of sweets to my different community friends thinking they were too lazy to get up and get their own.Only later did I realize that their reasons for not taking the eateries were different.

They didn't want to do so because they didn't consider it appropriate to take part in the Hindu-Pooja being the followers of another religion.

That led us to take part in a never ending discussion on secularism.

While accusations on PK followed by vandalization of theaters and posters in some parts of the country made no sense to me at all, this was something that had surpassed all levels of wonder.

Fist time ever in life being acquainted with something so minor yet impressionable brought us face-to-face with the problems of an orthodox mentality.

Living in a modern progressive world, when did we become so regressive?

Everyday we hear news of acrimonious war of words breaking out between political parties, restrictions being imposed on religion not just by social groups but also by political parties.

However, mere accusations of religious bias by politicians are motivated by a disinterested desire for truth. How can we blame other people when we ourselves aren't clean about secular thoughts? If we can't take sweets being distributed 20 steps away, that too not because we have diabetes or high blood pressure but because we have religionism running end to end in our veins, then God only knows who can help us.

And maybe due to that, for India, international recognition of it's free and secular society has always been hard to come by.With that mentality being imbibed in us from childhood, the question yet remains, are we ready to shun that outdated mindset and take the sweets from the stalls?

Well,I am.
